My daughter is graduating high school next week and she has been invited to(and is planning on attending) several graduation parties. I need ideas for inexpensive bulk gift ideas. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Most people just give cash to the graduates as that is what they can use most. You could put $5 in each card–at least it would be used. You could just buy grad cards for each, and have her write something in it and you could slip in a personalized bookmark or something similar. Edit: "Life’s Little Instruction Book" is also a popular graduation gift.

This is a high school graduation and we would like to do something as a group during the graduation ceremony.
I think you should work together to show what the top 8 of you school could accomplish… a video presentation… slide show, something that memorializes your years at the high school…. make it about everybody… the great teachers, support staff, students… I think it would be great to show how far you have come, and where you future will begin to lead you…..photos and music can say a a lot…. and then no one has to listen to a boring, ill stated valedictorian speech, let alone 8 of em….

My daughter has worked very hard at primary school. She was awarded a scholarship at a college for her academic endeavour and contribution to school life. Many of her friends wont be going to be to the same high school. As a gift Iwould like my daughter to have a party or a get together.Year 7s have a dinner but Iwould like this to be a special occasion.Any ideas for celebrations?Should it be at home or an activity elsewhere? The graduation is in summer.
to kmI dont want to do anything lavish for my daughter. Its been a rough couple of years with my mum passing away.My daughter and I cared for my mother/grandmother and watched her pass away at home.My daughter has worked very hard at school andgraduating from primary school with flying colours is an achievement.I just want her to celebrate with her close circle of friends with something simple as they will be headed in different directions.Something that is fun and affordable on a tight budget.I know that theall year 7s have a special dinner.
you could do it like a fancy dinner somewhere or a small cruise on a catamaran (sunset cruise)
or do a prom theme at a hotel where you rent a space
or you could have a trip to a waterpark or amusement park or a play or musical
i guess it all depends on how much you want to spend

I requested for both, but received 2 official transcript. I thought they made a mistake and requested another verification of graduation, only to receive yet another official transcript. From my understanding, verification of graduation is only a slip with the graduation date. What’s going on?
The paper handed to you at graduation ceremony should be verification. Transcript is a record of your grades.

This year’s Duke University student commencement speaker has a dual role. Two seniors, Matt Zafirovski and Kyle Knight, are teaming up to deliver one speech. Zafirovski and Knight were freshman roommates who developed a friendship and shared sense of humor during their four years at Duke.

I’m getting graduation gifts for a male and female graduating from high school and headed to college in another state. I want to get them each a nice gift, but can’t afford a car, a trip, etc. I’d appreciate your suggestions on gifts you have received or seen someone else receive or that you think would be great to receive. They each already have iPod, cell phone, camera, etc. and I’d like to find something that they would still treasure or enjoy years down the road, not something like a shirt that would be discarded in a year or two. Thanks!
a JOB for worktime and a soulmate/playmate for personal time!

I will probably become my school’s valedictorian, but I hate giving speeches in front of people because I get nervous easily. What should I do? Is it MANDATORY that the graduation speech is given by the valedictorian of the class?
Please be nice. I thought it was a tradition?
I think you should go forward with giving a speech at graduation otherwise you will appear stuck up. It’s understandable that you feel shy or nervous, but that isn’t an excuse to not say a few words about the year and farewells in addressing your peers, parents and teachers and principals.
Practice your speech and then you won’t be nervous at all. I try that and it helps me. I used to freeze up when I do speeches but now I’m more comfortable with them. Pause a couple of times for dramatic effect (and it helps you breathe and find your pace within your speech).
While it isn’t mandatory, it’s tradition for valedictorians and salutorians to address and it’s only right to do so. Why else were you designated a valedictorian? I’m sure that there are many other people out there who would want to be in your place even if they have to say a brief spot.

I am planning on singing in our graduation, my vocal range is in the alto area, and I need a good song that I can sing, and it would be meaningful to all of my class. We are a very close class, and I just want to show them how much I love them. Thanks for everything in advance.
